The second edition of the Champions League Twenty20 tournament will be played between September 25 and October 11 next year.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India, Cricket Australia and Cricket South Africa - the founding members of the Champions League - confirmed the dates, adding that the 2009 edition will be expanded to 12 teams with a total of 23 matches.
The inaugural edition of the Champions League, which features the two top teams of the domestic competition in India, South Africa and Australia as well as English Twenty20 Cup winners Middlesex and a side from Pakistan, was postponed until December 3-10 this year due to a clash of dates with the ICC Champions Trophy.
The Champions Trophy, which was to be held in Pakistan from September 12-28, was postponed by the International Cricket Council due to security concerns.
However, there may still be a potential clash of dates next year as the postponed Champions Trophy is scheduled to be held in Pakistan around the same time.
The venues and commercial details for this year's tournament and the 2009 edition will be announced at a later date.
