Essex's Ryan ten Doeschate expressed his delight after his man-of-the-match display helped the Netherlands cruise past Bermuda in the ICC World Cricket League Division 1 encounter at Ruaraka.
The all-rounder took 3-37 as the Bermudans were dismissed for 194 before hitting his maiden one-day international century as Peter Cantrell's team reached their victory target.
“I haven't been batting very well lately,” he said after completing an assured knock of 109 not out.
“I've been having a few things going through my mind, like I haven't been moving my feet well. I've been working on some new stuff and it's messed around with my technique a bit.
“I haven't been feeling good this whole week, but once I get going I felt good again.”
The Dutch face Ireland at Gymkhana on Monday knowing their destiny is out of their hands.
Cantrell's team must win their match convincingly and then hope Kenya lose heavily to Canada. The Canadians, too, can mathematically still advance to Wednesday's final, but the hosts remain favourites despite Sunday's defeat to Scotland thanks to their superior net run-rate.
Ten Doeschate remains hopeful but believes the Netherlands' best chance of advancing - and thus earning a place at the inaugural ICC Twenty20 World Championships in South Africa later this year - disappeared when they lost by two runs to the Scots.
The 26-year-old added: “Obviously we've got to cling on to the last hope, but I think we missed a trick against Scotland.
“If you lose a game like that I don't think you deserve to be in the final, quite frankly.
“But if we can come in through the back door, we'll be most grateful to whichever sides beat whoever.”
