New Zealand Cricket have announced seamer Daryl Tuffey’s retirement from all forms of the game.

Tuffey took 77 wickets for the Black Caps in 26 Tests and also played in 94 one-day internationals, but last represented his country in November 2010.

Several injuries over the past year have taken their toll on the 34-year-old, who told New Zealand Cricket’s official website: “I've had a few different injuries recently and they do get tougher to come back from.

“It's probably been my one major regret in cricket that I haven't spent as much time on the field as I would have liked but it's part and parcel of playing the game.

“It's been an honour to represent my country and to be able to do so in some great places around the world has been a bonus."
