Travis Dowlin, West Indies' most impressive player during Bangladesh's tour, made 37 to ensure no home slip-ups at Warner Park

West Indies’ five-wicket Twenty20 international victory in St Kitts tonight brought them minor revenge for their Test and one-day international series defeats against Bangladesh last month.

The tourists, who beat the Windies in two Tests and three ODIs, were unable to complete a clean sweep in the only Twenty20 fixture of their Caribbean trip at Warner Park.

The Tigers won the toss but were never able to establish the required momentum after losing their first three wickets with the total stuck on 12.

Naeem Islam’s 27 was the top score in an innings which featured only four double-figure contributions, was undermined by four run-outs and eventually realised a paltry 118 for nine.

West Indies, still fielding an under-strength side following the dispute between several of their best players and the board, lost opener Dale Richards to the first ball of their reply - bowled by left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan.

But Devon Smith and Travis Dowlin each made 37, the latter unbeaten, as this year’s ICC World Twenty20 semi-finalists coasted to victory with more than three overs to spare.
