Vettori out of Champions League
Daniel Vettori has become Delhi Daredevils' third high profile absentee for the inaugural Twenty20 Champions League.
The New Zealand captain has been ruled out of the competition, which begins today, with a hamstring injury that saw him miss Monday’s ICC Champions Trophy final.
Vettori follows South Africa’s AB de Villiers and England’s Paul Collingwood, who withdrew due to a back problem and a buttock strain respectively.
The Daredevils, who play their first match of the competition tomorrow against Victoria Bushrangers in Delhi, have replaced Vettori with fellow spinner Yogesh Nagar.
Royal Challengers Bangalore host Cape Cobras in today’s opener.
