The Pakistan Cricket Board have announced that proposals to stage a two-Test series against West Indies next month have been shelved.
The Tests were set to be played after a three-match one-day international series against the Windies in Abu Dhabi and were intended to give the Pakistan team some much-needed Test match practice.
But while the one-dayers will still take place, there was insufficient time to also play the Tests.
The news means that Pakistan, who saw a tour by Australia postponed in March due to security reasons, will not play a Test match in 2008.
The one-day matches are due to be held in Abu Dhabi on November 12, 14 and 16.
