Hamilton Masakdza guides Zimbabwe to an imposing 323 for seven before they knocked Bangladesh over for 254 today
A century from Hamilton Masakadza helped Zimbabwe secure a 69-run victory over Bangladesh to keep alive their hopes in the five-match one-day international series in Bulawayo.
With the hosts batting first, Masakadza’s 102 from 112 balls plus a knock of 94 from Brendan Taylor helped Zimbabwe post an intimidating 323 for seven in their 50 overs.
Elton Chigumbura also contributed an unbeaten 61 to leave Bangladesh facing an uphill battle.
The tourists quickly sank to 39 for four in reply before 78 from Raqibul Hasan helped steady the innings.
Mahbubul Alam also chipped in with 59 down the batting order but a winning total of 324 rarely looked possible with Bangladesh eventually skittled out for 254.
Tawanda Mupariwa and Ray Price each claimed three wickets for Zimbabwe, who now trail 2-1 in the series.
