Inzamam-ul-Haq (03/03/70)
Has captained Pakistan since 2003, when he returned to the side after a dismal World Cup campaign. Among the most experienced players in the history of the limited-overs game and a vital cog in the middle order.

Younis Khan (29/11/77)
One of Pakistan's most important middle-order batsmen, who plays with a mixture of flamboyance and determination. One of the few players to come out of the 2003 World Cup with his reputation intact.

Shahid Afridi (01/03/80)
Hard-hitting all-rounder with the tendency to be brilliantly destructive or destructively abysmal. His maiden one-day international innings yielded the fastest century recorded, off just 37 balls. He uses variety well with his leg-spinners.

Kamran Akmal (13/01/82)
Made his first-class debut at the age of 15 and has not looked back since. Is equally adept with the bat as he is behind the stumps and holds the record for the fastest Test match hundred, which he achieved against India in 2006 - an excellent year for him.

Iftikhar Anjum (01/12/80)
Swing bowler who forms part of an impressive battery of back-up seamers to the likes of Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Asif and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan. Continually impressive on the domestic circuit and has taken his chances at international level when they have come along.

Yasir Arafat (12/03/82)
Was a late call-up to the Pakistan squad after Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif were ruled out with injuries. Has impressed for Scotland and Sussex in recent years, helping the latter to the 2006 County Championship title. A useful all-rounder who can bat and bowl anywhere.

Umar Gul (15/10/82)
Another of Pakistan's pacemen, and a combination of height and the ability to move the ball both ways off the seam have earned him much praise from seasoned observers such as Geoffrey Boycott. Beginning to establish himself in the side.

Mohammad Hafeez (17/10/80)
An opening batsman and a handy offspin bowler whose organised approach dovetails well with some of the side’s more flamboyant players. Has the ideal technique and temperament to build from the top.

Danish Kaneria (16/12/80)
Somewhat a surprising selection considering he has played just 16 ODIs in a six-year career, featuring just seven times since captain Inzamam and coach Bob Woolmer came together in June 2004. However, Pakistan may be looking for some much-needed variety on often flat Caribbean pitches.

Azhar Mahmood (28/02/75)
Has been given a chance to impress for Pakistan once more after several years in the international wilderness. Was called up as a like-for-like replacement for Abdul Razzaq. His hard-hitting batting and useful death bowling has been benefiting Surrey CCC since 2002.

Shoaib Malik (01/02/82)
Since his one-day international debut in 1999, he has batted in every conceivable position, but has recently slotted in at number three or four to lend some power-hitting to the top order. His bowling action has been reported twice, but he has been cleared both times.

Rana Naved-ul-Hasan (28/02/78)
An important member of Sussex's trophy-winning side, Naved has established himself in Pakistan's squad with his exploits. His reverse-swing is particularly useful but his place in the team is under threat after some below-par performances.

Imran Nazir (16/12/81)
Opening bat with an aggressive approach who is strong off the back foot - an advantage in the West Indies. Also a top-class fielder.

Mohammad Sami (24/02/1981)
Was a late call-up to the Pakistan squad after Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif were ruled out with injuries. Has been suffering for form in recent years after an explosive start to his career had him pinpointed as Pakistan's greatest prospect with the ball.

Mohammad Yousuf (27/08/74)
The lynchpin of Pakistan's batting line-up, having improved markedly since converting from Christianity to Islam. Gathers his runs through orthodox, composed strokeplay rather than exuberance and broke several Test batting records in 2006.
