Carter closes in on FTI MVP title

Neil Carter continues his reign at the top of the FTI MVP and appears to be closing on the title after a long battle with Adil Rashid
With the FTI MVP race drawing to a close, Neil Carter will be confident of securing the gong after opening up a considerable lead over nearest rival Adil Rashid.
Unlike the Friends Provident t20 FTI MVP, which saw overseas stars dominate the rankings, England-qualified players make up eight of the top 10 slots in the overall standings.
Yorkshire leg-spinner Rashid has scored 833 runs and taken 87 wickets across all three forms, which sees him ranked second behind Warwickshire all-rounder Carter.
Nottinghamshire’s Samit Patel and Somerset duo Marcus Trescothick and Alfonso Thomas complete the top five.
Of the players aged under 23, Chris Woakes is the next best - after Rashid - in 16th, while Moeen Ali and Adam Lyth are 17th and 34th respectively, although the latter is 14th in the LV=CC FTI MVP.
