Dynamic Davies takes MVP lead

Steven Davies salutes his fifty in the Friends Provident Trophy defeat to Leicestershire at New Road on May 12
Worcestershire wicketkeeper Steven Davies tops the PCA MVP rankings on the back of fiery performances in the Friends Provident Trophy.
Davies, who bats at the top of the order for the Royals in limited-overs cricket, leapfrogs last week’s leader Andrew Hall. Davies is also up to third in the FP Trophy list thanks to 303 runs at more than a run a ball in the 50-over competition.
Marcus Trescothick is second in the overall MVP rankings, one of four Somerset players in the FP Trophy MVP top 10. His dominant displays opening the batting for the Sabres secures him the lead in the FP Trophy list.
Hall, the Northamptonshire all-rounder, drops to third overall after a rain-affected week for the Steelbacks in the FP Trophy.
But the former South Africa international still leads the race for the LV= County Championship MVP.
Phillip Hughes, the audacious young Australia opener, sits fifth in the overall MVP list after 825 runs in all cricket for Middlesex. But his stint with the county comes to an end later this week.
