Biography
Solid and dependable at the top of the order, Cook’s potential was clear from a young age. Following a string of impressive performances at domestic level, the tall left-hander was voted young player of the year by the Cricket Writers’ Club in 2005 and celebrated by thumping 214 against the touring Australians 24 hours later.
