Biography
A seam bowler good enough to play 26 one-day internationals and one Twenty20 for Zimbabwe, Ireland quit international cricket after the 2007 World Cup to join Gloucestershire. He failed to establish himself in the side during a fitful first three seasons at Bristol, but took 36 wickets at an average of 21.77 in eight LV= County Championship games in 2010. Middlesex, against whom he took 5-25 at Bristol in June, were sufficiently impressed to sign Ireland on a two-year deal.
