Batsman Anurag Singh has finally settled at Nottinghamshire after a journeyman career which took in spells at Cambridge University, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
He was signed by director of cricket Mike Newell to replace the dashing Usman Afzaal. Newell had been impressed by Singh’s technique on what is widely regarded as a tough batting track at Worcester’s New Road ground.
In a decade of first class cricket, Singh has recorded 11 hundreds and 24 half-centuries with a top score of 187.
Now 30, Singh will be hoping for a long stint at his latest club and an improvement on his career average of around 32.
