Biography
A talented young batsman, Howell is a product of the Hampshire academy and has captained the youth side when Liam Dawson has been on first-team duty. Born in France, Howell holds English and Australian passports and spends the winter playing club cricket down under. Howell opened the batting as Hampshire won the Second XI Trophy in 2008. In 2009 he again impressed enough in the seconds to have his one-year development contract renewed, and he will be hoping for a taste of first-team action in 2010.
