A talented batsman capable of bowling at impressive pace, Gregory has long been earmarked as a potential star.
The all-rounder shone for England Under-19s in 2009, taking a hat-trick against Sri Lanka in a superb series.
He topped the Clydesdale Bank 40 bowling average charts in 2011, his first full season, with 13 scalps at 14.92 and was also Somerset’s leading wicket-taker in the Friends Life t20.
After a disappointing year in 2013, Gregory bounced back the following campaign with 65 wickets in all competitions as he led the Somerset attack, while also contributing over 500 runs.
The highlight of the season was undoubtedly a 71-ball century against Durham in the Royal London One-Day Cup, his first in professional cricket, which helped Somerset claim a dramatic win.
