Beaumont helped Kent to the LV= County Championship title in 2009 - she hit 136 opening against Surrey - having featured for the England Academy side against an ICC Europe XI in August.
Her performances earned her a call-up to the England senior side for the West Indies tour later that year, in place of the rested Taylor, and she made her one-day and Twenty20 international debuts in the Caribbean.
She played on the trip to India in a side minus Taylor during February 2010 and, having helped Kent do the double in 2011, featured in the same team as Taylor as a specialist batter in South Africa and New Zealand that winter and the next summer.
Beaumont reverted to being Taylor’s wicketkeeping understudy at the 2012 World Twenty20 and the 2013 World Cup but was handed a Test debut in the summer’s one-off Ashes Test against Australia.
After a stunning tour of Sri Lanka with the England Women's Academy, which saw her hit nearly 300 runs at an average of 74.75 as captain, Beaumont was recalled to the England squad for the 2014 World T20.
Despite a disappointing tournament, Beaumont started the 2014 season with a bang, scoring a century followed by 92 for Kent in the Royal London One-Day Cup to cement her place in the England squad.
She featured in the Test defeat against India and two subsequent one-day matches.
