MacLeod made his way through the Scotland ranks, making his first-class debut for his country in the Intercontinental Cup match against the United Arab Emirates in 2007.He was snapped up by Warwickshire on a two-year deal at the end of the 2007 season.He played two NatWest Pro40 matches in 2008, but did not bat and only bowled three overs.
