The batting all-rounder began playing cricket aged nine for Burgess Hill boys, whom, she went on to captain at under-16 level, and has represented Sussex since the age of 11. She made her international debut in the summer of 2001 and in 2002 became the first woman to graduate from one of the University Centres of Cricketing Excellence (Durham).
