A Lancastrian by birth, Dagnall plays the game with boyish enthusiasm and is a major contributor to the Leicestershire cause. Dagnall, who is also a singer in a soul-funk band, first made his impact in first class cricket with Warwickshire, where he is best remembered for a dramatic last-wicket partnership of 37 in 13 overs with Mo Sheikh which secured victory against local rivals Worcestershire in the 2001 Benson & Hedges Cup.
