A Lancastrian by birth, Dagnall plays the game with boyish enthusiasm and is a major contributor to the Leicestershire cause.
Dagnall, who is also a singer in a soul-funk band, first made his impact in first class cricket with Warwickshire, where he is best remembered for a dramatic last-wicket partnership of 37 in 13 overs with Mo Sheikh which secured victory against local rivals Worcestershire in the 2001 Benson & Hedges Cup.
He joined Leicestershire at the end of the 2001 campaign and was a valuable member of the side which won the 2004 Twenty20 Cup after working hard in the gymnasium the previous winter.
His finest performance came in the group game against Nottinghamshire when he took 4-22 to help secure a 40-run win and he signed a new one-year contract at the end of the season.
Was released by Leicestershire at the end of the 2005 season after a string of injuries limited his participation.
