Biography

One of the finest wicketkeepers of his generation, Read will perhaps be best remembered for attempting to duck under a Chris Cairns slower-ball yorker and being bowled in his second Test appearance. A spell on the international fringes, not solely due to that moment, followed, but Read earned his next opportunity when Alec Stewart retired in 2003.
