Biography
Briggs is an orthodox left-arm spinner from the Isle of Wight. In 2009, he enjoyed something of a breakthrough year, making both his one-day and first-class debuts for Hampshire. He was particularly economical in limited-overs cricket, bowling tidy and accurate spells, and transferred his skills to the four-day game with 3-62 against Somerset - including the prized scalp of Marcus Trescothick. Briggs’ form for Hampshire soon caught the attention of the England Under-19 selectors and, after featuring in the home and away series against Bangladesh, he was chosen for the World Cup squad...
