Evans was called up by England Under-19 for the second Test of the 2006 series against India Under-19 at Taunton in August.
He made his debut for Durham academy in 2004, producing best bowling figures of 4-35.
Evans also played for Durham A the same summer, playing for Durham 2nd XI in the Second XI Championship and Second XI trophy from 2004 to 2006.
He played for Middlesex in the latter half of 2007, taking five wickets in four matches and impressing enough to earn a full professional contract.
Evans played in over half of Middlesex's championship matches in 2008, claiming 28 wickets at 32.
The following season in 2009, however, he was restricted to just one Championship outing and managed only a handful of one-day appearances.
