Daryl Tuffey

Tuffey is a dangerous fast-medium bowler who has formed a useful opening partnership in one-day internationals with New Zealand’s strike bowler Shane Bond.

The right-armer made his Test and ODI debuts in 2000 and established himself with the Black Caps in both forms of the game.

His best international figures came in the Test arena when he took 6 for 54 to help New Zealand tie the three-match series with England at Auckland in 2001-02

He toured England in 2004 but a series of serious injuries has restricted his international opportunities since then.

These setbacks included a damaged shoulder in 2005 that kept him out of action for the best part of two years.

He came back into international contention playing for Northern Districts and an injury to Kyle Mills resulted in an ODI recall for Tuffey in time to go to the 2007 World Cup.
