David Alleyne joined Nottinghamshire in 2004 after he failed to secure a regular place in the Middlesex side.
In as cover for Chris Read, Alleyne spent much of his time at Notts playing for the second XI as Read's international career stalled.
A wicket-keeper and competent lower-order batsman, Alleyne made just one championship appearance in 2005.
Though he played 10 games the following year, he left Notts midway through the 2007 season, Chris Read's failure to hold down an England place having all but ended Alleyne's chances of regular first-team cricket.
Alleyne averaged 30 in 17 first-class matches for Notts and claimed 50 victims behind ths stumps.
