Biography
A graduate of Durham UCCE, tall right-arm seamer Balcombe signed for Hampshire in 2006. He made a handful of appearances for Hampshire in 2007, but, with the departure of Shane Warne, James Bruce and Shaun Udal, along with injury to Chris Tremlett, featured more regularly in 2008, helping the county to second place in the Pro40 League. Injury problems limited his chances in 2009 and 2010, but Balcombe enjoyed a productive loan spell at Kent in 2011, taking 33 wickets in five championship games.
