Biography
Pipe spent seven seasons at Worcestershire as Steve Rhodes’ understudy, with lengthy spells in the side hard to come by. He took eight catches against Hertfordshire in the Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy in 2001 to set a new record for the competition, beating Alec Stewart’s tally of seven. Pipe scored his maiden first-class century - 104 not out against Hampshire - two years later, but it was not until Rhodes retired at the end of the 2004 season that Pipe became first-choice wicket-keeper at New Road.
