Biography
A steady left-arm spinner, Wainwright made his first-class debut in 2004, playing for Loughborough UCCE and he has also represented British Universities. He appeared in all of Yorkshire's Twenty20 Cup and Friends Provident Trophy games in 2007 as he began to make his way as a one-day player. In 2008 Wainwright surprised everyone when he made his maiden hundred in either first or second team cricket, against Sussex to help secure Yorkshire's Division One status in the LV= County Championship.
