Kenway is an experienced batsman who has played for Hampshire since 1997.
Although he has been keen to keep wicket, opportunities have been limited for him at Hampshire, allowing him to concentrate on his batting. He threatened to leave at the end of the 2002 season but eventually decided to stay on the south coast.
He was awarded his cap in 2001 and was also named as the Hampshire Cricket Society Player of the Year in that same season.
The success he had that year also brought him a call-up to the inaugural ECB National Academy squad in Australia.
He was a member of the successful 2005 Hampshire squad that lifted the Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy and finished second in Frizzell County Championship Division One.
He was released by Hampshire at the end of the 2005 season, after playing fewer than half of their totesport league games and only featuring once in the County Championship.
