Biography
The Irish wicketkeeper-batsman has had to play second fiddle for much of his senior career. Niall O’Brien has been Ireland’s first-choice gloveman since Wilson emerged on the limited-overs international scene. At Surrey, Wilson began behind Jon Batty in the pecking order and Steven Davies is now an automatic selection. Wilson has therefore had to concentrate on his batting, which has not been strong enough to hold down a regular place for Surrey but has seen him play at the 2009 World Twenty20 and 2011 World Cup.
