A late bloomer, seamer Hussain did not make his first-class debut until he was 25.

However, after being taken on by Gloucestershire, it was not long before he was taking regular wickets, culminating in a season haul of 67 in 2010 - the most in Division Two that year - which earned him a move to Somerset.
