An elegant batsman who became an instant hit since making his debut for Derbyshire in 2003.
That year Adnan played just two first-class matches but managed to compile 189 runs at an average of 63.
During the 2004 campaign he continued his fine form, wracking up almost 1,400 runs at an average of 51, and in doing so earned himself the club’s player-of-the-year award.
But he was perhaps the biggest victim of the side's disappointing 2005 season when he saw his average almost halved to 27.7, although he fared better in the National League.
Adnan has now qualified to play for England and signed a new one-year contract for the 2007 season.
However, he found his opportunities limited in 2007, and midway through the summer was granted permission to speak to other counties.
