Heather Knight

An attacking batter, Knight was the leading run-scorer in the 2009 Women’s LV= County Championship.

She played for Devon as early as 2005, aged 14, and has also featured for both the Diamonds and Rubies in the Super 4s Twenty20 competition.

Her performances earned her England academy inclusion and then a call-up to the senior tour of India in place of the injured Sarah Taylor in February 2010.

Knight made 49 on England debut in a one-day international at Mumbai and that November was given a T20 international bow versus Sri Lanka at Colombo.

During England’s tour of Australia in January 2011 she posted 72 at the WACA and on the same tour went onto make her Test debut.

Knight continued to feature for England and struck 55 not out to complete a one-day whitewash of South Africa in Potchefstroom that October.

She continued to be an ODI regular in 2012 and was chosen in England’s squad for the 2013 World Cup in India.
