Biography

During Rudolph's first taste of Test cricket he shared an unbroken stand of 429 with Boeta Dippenaar for the third wicket in Chittagong in November 2001. He eventually ended on an unbeaten 222. Rudolph batted for over seven hours on the final day of the 2005 Perth Test with Australia - for an unbeaten 102 - which ensured a South African draw. The day after his ton against Australia, he signed to play for Derbyshire for the 2006 season but was then ruled out for the whole campaign due to a shoulder injury which required an operation.
