Biography
All-rounder James Hopes has played one-day internationals for Australia and signed for Derbyshire in 2007. He hit 43 against Sri Lanka in the VB Series and played for Australia A in the 2006 Top End series while during the past two seasons his limited-overs form for Queensland has been outstanding. An attacking right-hander who bowls medium-pace and moves the ball both ways, Hopes is also a strong fielder and has hit three centuries at first-class level and holds Queensland’s fifth wicket partnership with Martin Love for their 236-run liaison against Victoria in 2003-04.
