Tomlinson finally burst onto the county scene in 2008 after enduring a frustrating time with injuries. He has progressed from Cardiff UCCE through British Universities and the Hampshire Cricket Board before finally getting a chance with the second XI. During the 2003 season he took 6-63 against Derbyshire including a spell of five wickets for nine runs in 37 balls.
