Biography

Bairstow, son of former England and Yorkshire wicketkeeper David Bairstow, has started to make a name for himself after establishing himself for his county. Bairstow junior was named as schools cricketer of the year in 2008 after averaging 218 for St Peter's School in York. He enjoyed a successful 2008 season at Yorkshire, adding to his academy performances by scoring 308 runs in the Second XI Championship at an average of 62. This included 139 not out against Worcestershire at Headingley Carnegie. His fine form led to him being selected in the squad for the last LV= County Championship...
