Kirk Wernars

A left-handed batsman and right-arm seamer, Wernars - who was born in Cape Town - signed for Sussex ahead of the 2011 season.

Having scored heavily and taken wickets for the second XI, he earned a first-team debut and went on to play three LV= County Championship games that year.

Wernars’ performances earned him a new two-year contract at the end of the campaign.
