Patel's short career so far has mostly spanned Kenya's 18-month international isolation.

He made his debut against Pakistan in the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy and was bowled first ball by Shahid Afridi - but claimed he hadn't been ready to receive the delivery.

Was recalled for the World Cricket League and kept his place for the World Cup.
