Mark Davis

The off-break bowler is not classed as an overseas player and has been with Sussex since 2001.

Prior to that he captained Northern Province/Northerns in South Africa from 1997-2000 as they won the first two trophies in their history.

He has learnt a lot from having Mushtaq Ahmed in the ranks, and they have produced a good spin partnership together.

Can also hit the ball cleanly and has a highest score of 168 in first class cricket.

Shared a Sussex record eighth-wicket partnership of 291 with Robin Martin-Jenkins against Somerset in 2002 as he scored his maiden first class century (111).

Restricted to four Championship appearances in 2005 and retired at the end of the season to become club coach.
