Biography
Betts is a medium fast bowler who has played for England Under 19s and England A with mixed success. He made his first class debut for Durham in 1993 at the age of 18 and stayed with the North-East club for eight years, before deciding to move to Warwickshire in 2001. His first championship appearance saw him facing his former employers and he responded with figures of 5-22. Inconsistent performances resulted in a move to Middlesex for the 2004 season, where he experienced better times in both forms of the game.
