Biography

Yardy is a reliable all-rounder for Sussex and formerly England, with whom he won the World Twenty20 in 2010. A left-handed batsman, who adopts a crab-like stance, and slow bowler, Yardy shot to prominence in 2005 with an outstanding campaign for Sussex. Up until that point, the all-rounder had only shown flashes of promise with the bat, epitomised by him hitting just one century in his first 38 four-day games. That he scored five in the 2005 season alone illustrated his improvement; Yardy struck a total of 1,520 first-class runs that season.
