An affable, Australian-born seam bowler who holds a British passport, Claydon has proven a valuable squad member at Durham. He represented Yorkshire in the 2006 season, but was found wanting with both bat and ball and was released at the end of the year. However, after moving to the Emirates Durham ICG, he gradually established himself as a reliable performer. He enjoyed his most productive year to date with the ball in 2011, claiming 64 wickets across all forms.
