The Basingstoke and North Hampshire spinner has come through the Hampshire Academy.
Was named as the county's Under 16 player of the year in 2002 and broke through into the second XI in 2004.
He also represented England Under 17 during that summer and was then selected for the Under 19 tour of India in 2005 at the age of 17, where he smashed 33 off 17 balls in the first Test.
Could not prevent series defeats in both the Tests and one-day internationals but will still be eligible to play in the 2006 U19 World Cup.
He played in three of Hampshire's NatWest Pro40 matches in 2006, but only managed 13 runs. He had more success in the Twenty20 Cup, where he was everpresent and managed 125 runs with a highest score of 62.
