Nathan Buck

A tall, strong seamer, Buck’s promise was evident even before he trained with the likes of Stuart Broad, Simon Jones and Graham Onions at the National Cricket Performance Centre as a 15-year-old.

Highly regarded by Leicestershire as a youngster, he represented England at under-16, under-17 and under-19 level before making his first-class debut in 2009.

The following summer, his first full season in county cricket, saw him take 49 LV= County Championship wickets at an average of 27.34.

As part of the England Fast Bowling Programme, he was set to spend time at Dennis Lillee’s pace academy in early 2011, until he was called up to the England Lions squad for the early stages of the West Indies tour to cover for Steven Finn.

Following another strong campaign for Leicestershire that summer, Buck was named in the England Performance Programme squad and the England Lions party to tour Bangladesh.
