Neil Edwards

One of many batsmen signed to try and solve Nottinghamshire’s problems at the top of the order, Edwards has never really fulfilled his potential.

Having represented England Under-19s, the opener looked set for a prosperous career when he struck an impressive 160 for Somerset against Hampshire in just his third first-class game.

Things have not necessarily gone to plan since, though he remains a solid performer in the domestic game.
