Biography
Pothas is of South African origin and plays for Gauteng in the country's domestic competitions, but holds a Greek passport and is not considered an overseas player at the Rose Bowl. He joined Hampshire in 2002 as a wicketkeeper-batsman and has consistently scored runs as well as being one of the finest glovemen on the county circuit. Pothas played three one-day internationals for South Africa in Singapore in 2000, before being overlooked for Mark Boucher.
