Biography
The grandson of England great Denis, Nick Compton joined Somerset from Middlesex prior to the 2010 season. Despite his English heritage, Compton was brought up in South Africa and moved to England when he was a teenager. A classy player, Compton impressed at Middlesex as an opening batsman and has since enjoyed solid results in the middle order for Somerset, scoring 1,010 LV= County Championship runs in the 2011 season.
