A veteran of many campaigns for Nottinghamshire, Franks started his career with a bang in 1997 when he claimed the county’s first hat-trick for a decade in what was his first full season. Fast bowler Franks won the County Championship title twice with Nottinghamshire, in 2005 and 2010. Fittingly, perhaps, his only appearance for England so far came at Trent Bridge in a one-day international in July 2000, though he went wicketless for 48 runs.
