A former England player at Under 17-Under 19 levels and for the A side, Hutchison came through the Yorkshire Academy but has played for three counties during his career, winning the County Championship at two of them.
He took 7-38 on his first class debut against Pakistan A in 1997 and followed it up with 7-50 on his Championship debut. In doing so he recorded the best bowling figures for a Yorkshire bowler on debut since Wilfred Rhodes in 1898.
He was released by his home county and joined Sussex in 2002 but his appearances were limited by injury and he moved to Middlesex for the 2004 season.
However, he has been unable to secure a regular place in the side, playing only two first class games for the county in 2005.
